Patriarchal cultures demonize female divinity and power. The original cunctipotent goddess is made monstrous – the vagina dentata (toothed) and the Gorgon Medusa. In 2016, Trump often was cast as the male hero slaying the Medusa, shown as Hillary Clinton. Just days after Kamala Harris was named the vice-presidential nominee, she too was depicted as Medusa.
