In a 2005 video, President Trump boasted about grabbing women by the “pussy” and kissing them against their will. More than twenty women have accused President Trump of sexual assault and rape. One woman accused former Vice-President Joe Biden of rape and several others accuse him of unwanted though non-sexual touching. The MeToo movement, founded by Tarana Burke, calls out a “rape culture” that glorifies masculine sexual privilege and aggression, masking these as normal, disbelieving and blaming victims, and giving impunity to rapists, though this impunity is contingent on their race, wealth, and other social status factors. The MeToo movement advocates believing women, but does not endorse a mandatory belief of all women without investigation.
